How an Author Relaxes
I spent three days home last week recovering from a simple medical procedure.  I wasn’t so much in pain as I was uncomfortable and physically drained.  So what did I do?

Curl up and read a book?  I tried but fell asleep after a couple of pages.  Knit?  Well, some, but the rows just seemed so long and boring.  Did I watch movies?   It was too much effort to figure out how to work the DVD player.  (I need a grandkid to figure it out even now.)

Instead, I lounged around the house in my PJs and watched the Food Channel.  I got so hungry that I spent the next two days cooking comfort food, which Wayne loved.  Word quickly spread ,  and soon all the kids and grandkids were by to visit and take home leftovers.  Now that I think about it, it actually wasn’t such a bad way to spend those few days!

Prayers are with you for speedy recovery and back to your usual self. I always do cooking when I am frustrated.

Awww. As long as standing in the kitchen didn't bother you, that was a great way to recuperate. Being surrounded by family couldn't hurt either.

I think you have it all figured out. Cooking and spending time with the grandkids. That's two of my favorite things also.

WHAT!! You bored?! You should have soaked in a nice warm bath dreaming about your next book!! (Just kidding) I get days like that too, except the "comfort" food always costs me..like another 5-lbs!! Needless to say, they are far & few between!! Glad your family came to the rescue!! LOL, Kathi :)

I love the food network but its hard to watch when your hungry, especially if your watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, or is it the other way around. There are lots of goos shows and the cooking channel, yum, be well Debbie.

Sorry you are not well, but grandkids always makes things better. Spending time with family helps. I love to read too but sometimes when I don't feel well I get to reading and then it's not long until I'm asleep.
