Driving instead of flying
After a restful break at home in Port Orchard for Mother’s Day, Wayne and I boarded a plane for North Carolina. Also aboard the plane was Bruce Crandall, Medal of Honor recipient (and our friend), along with four young women and two young men headed toward marine boot camp. It was a thrill to give them a standing ovation and let them board the plane first.
For this next portion of the tour, Wayne and I will be driving instead of flying, and we’re looking forward to traveling through portions of the South. I hope I’ll have the chance to meet you in Charlotte, Charleston, Savannah, Tallahassee, New Orleans, Shreveport or Knoxville. God be with you, have a safe journey. WE love traveling through the south by car. There are so many interesting places to see and so much history.
I have read Summer on Blossom Street and I was sad when it ended. I felt like I was there with all of them. Loved it to pieces. enjoy your trip with Wayne

Have a nice journey through our state of N.C. Debbie. Wish i could come out to see you. I live in a small town called Eden, good little hop, skip and jump to where you are going. Above all, have fun!!! P.S. Loved the story about your chair mishap!!! What's a girl to do???

I am here in North Carolina, but I am closer to Raleigh, than Charlotte. Would love for you to be able at some point to make it to Raleigh so I could get a chance to meet you!!!

When we spend time at our condo in Panama City Beach, FL I always drive down and my husband flies. His friends always tease him that he has it made, but I enjoy the drive and I have the time, whereas his vacation is limited until the end of the year when he retires. Have a safe journey on your tour!

It always melts my heart when I hear others stand in respect of our troops and let them board the plan or give them a standing ovation. I have had this happen to my military daughter and she also received help while traveling back to base and had a problem with her hotel. I will always remember the kindness of a special desk clerk in Texas.

Saw you last night in Charlotte, NC after driving 1 1/2 hours and loved every minute! You are as cute and funny as expected. Can't wait for the books and movies coming soon.
