Regular or Plastic?
I’m flying back to Washington state Wednesday morning in order to spend Easter with our children and grandchildren. Of course, the Easter bunny makes an appearance at the Macomber household, although he brings plastic eggs. This became necessary when one of the ‘regular’ eggs went undiscovered for six months and caused quite a stink once found. One does grow wise with age, and so it’s plastic for this bunny!

Re: Regular or Plastic?
We still do both but outside. My boys and I attend church so my husband when he gets home work that morning becomes our Easter Bunny and hides the eggs in the backyard.

Re: Regular or Plastic?
When my sons were small I would set my alarm clock for 5am and go outside to hide the eggs for them.
My sister always has everyone over to her house on Easter. She has one egg hunt for the children and another egg hunt for the adults. The adult eggs sometimes have lottery tickets in them.

Well, I prefere Plastic...no cooking and no dipping either...just get down the basket of saved eggs and fill them and hide them and that's what this Easter Bunny here likes...smiles...

Re: Regular or Plastic?
For Easter, when our children were young, my husband would get out his hand-made template(cut from card-stock)for the outline of a 2-foot-long bunny footprint. Beginning at the curb in front of our house and up the sidewalk to the back door, he would lightly sprinkle powdered lime over the template, reversing it for the left and right back feet. The first year, all the neighborhood kids were enthralled. But we rapidly realized that the next year, he would have to go to the parents of the neighborhood children and obtain permission from all of them to "do" the "bunny hop" along their sidewalks and to their back doors, as well, in order to keep the peace! It was lots of fun, playing Easter bunny late on a Saturday night, and we still laugh about it every year. Our son also did the same for his son! (We're still waiting for more grandkids....!) A quick spray with the hose or a light rainfall would easily wash away the "footprints" and sweeten the acid soil where we lived then. Happy Easter to all! NM in MN

Re: Regular or Plastic?
I love Easter and getting together with my family. We have a pretty large family and I travel to New Jersey for Easter. We have the Easter Egg Hunt for the smaller children outside and they are plastice eggs only. Its fun to see the children look for the eggs. Happy Easter....

Re: Regular or Plastic?
My kids LOVED the Easter Egg hunt (and still do at 23 & 26)! You see, we fill the eggs with "$", so it's still popular! Only this time, instead of .25, .50, .75 & $1.00 with the "SPECIAL-EXTRA-LARGE-EGG" that might hold $5.00, now it's $1.00, $5.00,& the "SPECIAL-EGG" is $10.00! Now they can really rack-up gas money! Of course there has to be one "bogus" egg and that holds .50!! I've now resorted to a "community" basket that everyone can dip into; this year it's organic chocolate...(where the heck do I get that!) Oh well, Happy Easter Everyone!!!! lol, Kathi :)

Re: Regular or Plastic?
One member of our family goes all out when hiding the Easter Eggs!! Even in locations the children can never find. A few weeks after Easter a few years ago, my daughter started smelling something burning inside the house. No one could locate the source for the longest time until someone spotted a plastic egg up in the light fixture! The next year--we let someone else hide the eggs!!!

Re: Regular or Plastic?
I prefer regular Easter eggs! When I was a kid, my Dad hid the eggs in the living room & dining room before my brothers and & got up Easter morning. When we were older, they were hidden in the back yard, which was pretty big. Big enough for 4 grape vines to cover the back porch. Then there were 2 peach trees, 2 plum trees and 2 apricot trees. And there were tomato and squash plants between the plums and peaches. Well, one year, when we collected the eggs, there was one more than had been hidden! So we realized that it had been there for a whole year!!!!! After that we were very careful to make sure that we recovered ALL the eggs!!!

Re: Regular or Plastic?
My son hid all of his real eggs while I was in the bathroom and then said mommy I have an egg hunt for you! I found 5 out of 6 until yestorday (4weeks later) when it smelled so bad we finally found number 6. The bunny always hides plastic and now he will to!
