Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Wayne and I had a wonderful Easter with our children and grandchildren.  As anticipated, the annual Macomber Easter egg hunt was a huge success.  The start of the Boston marathon could not rival the kids running out the front door in search of the hidden eggs.  I hid the grand prize, a special egg containing a $10 bill.  Five-year-old Isaiah echoed the thoughts of every grandchild when he said, “Grandma, I could really use ten bucks.”

Our Easter egg hunt was on Saturday this year, which was extra good planning on our part as we had beautiful weather—sunny but cold.  Sunday turned out to be constant rain.

And the finder of the special egg?  Granddaughter Bailey!  Congratulations, sweetheart!  It was so much fun to see all the cousins together, just like my childhood in Yakima when I spent holidays with my cousins.

Re: Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Sounds like everyone had a good time! Your grandson must have had something he wanted to buy! Sorry he didn't win. Congrats to the special winner, though.

Re: Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Egg Hunts are really too much fun. We had 17 children under the age of 12 all looking for the eight eggs with their names on them. One egg entitled them to a bucket filled with candy and a special prize. It does take some planning to pull this off considering we also make a meal for the 39 adults (12 to 70) that are also in attendance. We had beautiful weather here in the Chicago area and everyone had a great time.

Re: Annual Easter Egg Hunt
My sister had an egg hunt for all our little ones. There were 7 kiddos looking for close to 300 plastic eggs. They had a ball. My 2 year old found nearly 60 eggs, which held 6 prizes and my son won 4 prizes. They were thrilled. We had a musical at our church for Easter Service and needless to say my 10 year old is not going to be a musician in anyway. :( He went and helped out in nursery though. :) He is a very special little man, as well as our 2 year old, all the grandbabies and daughters too!
