When You're In Too Much of a Hurry
I was running late yesterday morning for my Bible Study class. Filled with purpose, I jumped into my car, revved up the engine, and backed out of the garage . . . directly into the housekeeper’s vehicle, which was parked just behind mine. I T-boned it. After I pressed my forehead against the steering wheel, I went back into the house to apologize to the housekeeper and give her all the necessary information. And do you know what the kicker was? I’d been in a terrible rush, so fearful of being late, yet despite everything, I was still on time for Bible Study. This was a lesson well learned.

Oh no! I'm glad you weren't hurt. I broke my side mirror at a drive in diner because I was in a hurry too, not too long ago. Embarrassed me to death.

I too am glad you didn't hurt yourself. I have slowly, very slowly learned that being late to something, which I am not a late person, is not the worst thing in the world. For one thing you might miss helping out someone who just needs a moment of your time or forget to smell the roses around you.

I thought blogs were like chat rooms...shows you how little I know! Question: my uncle lives in Port Orchard and his last name is Fogelman (my maiden name too). I was told a character in one of your books has the same name...I need to know so I can buy a few books for family members. Thanks....that is if this is read by anyone!

Oh man. Sometimes, we just need to take a deep breath and think first. I was pulling into the driveway of my house and my hubby was there, in reverse. He never really looked. I was laying on the horn, too. I think he just tapped my car, so no damage. He looked so shocked, when he realized I WAS there.

WOW!! IT'S SCARY TO "BUMP" INTO THINGS WITH YOUR CAR..THANK GOD IT WAS ONLY IN YOUR DRIVE WAY. YOUR HOUSEKEEPER SOUNDS LIKE A REAL NICE PERSON...SMILE!! THINGS COULD'VE BEEN WORSE..IT COULD HAVE BEEN YOUR HUSBAND'S VEHICLE AND YOU WOULD'VE NEVER HEARD THE END OF IT! LOL, KATHI :)

Glad no major damage was done and no one was hurt. I also one day was leaving my husband's nursing/physical rehab facility lat one night after major complications and backed into the cement post behind my spot. Luckily only my car was involved and slight damage to my taillight. It taught me no matter how distraught you are you must calm down before leaving in the car. I was rushing home to notify the kids and just thought I could clear it. We all are so hectic at times but things do get better. Love your books they have saved my sanity many times thanks for the great reads and look forward to seeing you at another book signing soon!!!

Re: When You're In Too Much of a Hurry
I did the same thing...backed right out of my garage...like I always do...right into my friends car. But, if that wasn't enough...years later I was backing up in a dark parking garage to let an oncoming car pass and I did it again. I saw the big white pickup out of my rear view mirror and thought I had room. But much to my chagrin, I couldn't see the little "brand new" black Jaquar sports car parked between us. I left him a note on his windshield. That was pricey! Debbie, these garages are out to get us!
