Not a Happy Puppy
Bogie was in to see the veterinarian yesterday to be "fixed." He is not a happy puppy about this. It was almost as if he knew what was about to happen to him. Wayne took him in, and Bogie gave him the big, brown-eyed look that said, “Are you really comfortable knowing what they are going to do to me?” Wayne has been feeling guilty all afternoon. Bogie hasn’t moved around a lot today and is walking—shall we say—gingerly, this afternoon. Poor sweetheart.

Re: Not a Happy Puppy
Been there and done that--my Gizmo should bottle and sell his "guilt" ability ingredients. He can pour it out at will, and make you think you are the worst "parent" in the world.
Your baby will be fine in a day or two. Just give him a lot of love and attention, and he won't remember a thing!!!!

poor baby but necessary to be done, he will be back to you and love you again. feed him so special things he likes and give him lots of hugs and kisses. we all feel guilty when we have to have them fixed but it is much kinder than bringing more puppies into the world

Re: Not a Happy Puppy
Awww, poor puppy! When we took our dog in, to be fixed, it turned out she was in heat, and couldn't do the surgery. However, they'd already sedated her, for the operation, anyway, because they didn't realize that right away. Someone saw some blood where she'd been kenneled, at the shelter. So, we had to take home a very drunk dog. Then I crated her at home, until she'd slept it off, because I didn't want her trying to do the stairs, in her drugged condition. She was able to have her surgery about a month later. We had only adopted her about 10 days prior to this.

Re: Not a Happy Puppy
I just got a 2 year old dachshund on Sunday (rescue dog) and he goes for his "operation" next week. He will have to wear a cone after his surgery and I'm sure this will be a challenge. He is the sweetest little guy but he needs some training. He is like a little kid in their "terrible twos", but he is a quick learner, I hope.

Been there done that too! I know how guilty I felt; but believe or not, the breeder said we had to do it unless we gave her 1st preference of puppies born & we HAD to mate him!! Well, we decided to "fix" him and not worry about all that red tape going through the breeder. Next pup will be a "mutt" already neudered!!! LOL, Kathi : )

Poor Bogie now he'll be peeing like a girl. That's what happened to my English Lab - - he's still embarrassed if you watch him. Must be a male thing, huh??? Bogie will be fine soon.
