Bogie and me on a stroll

Bogie and I went for a walk this morning.  Generally, I walk in the park with my exercise partner, Martha Powers, but Martha is off to SleuthFest, a mystery conference (her current book is a suspense/thriller!) for the rest of the week.  I feel better, more energetic, if I exercise, so I decided Bogie and I would stroll the neighborhood.  It was exercise all right . . . an exercise in patience.

This was Bogie’s first sojourn down the street, and he felt it absolutely necessary to investigate every blade of the neighbor’s grass.  The tree bark of the palm tree seemed endlessly fascinating.  If there’d been a dog within fifty feet of the spot we walked, Bogie insisted on marking the territory.  My usual two-mile trek easily would have taken two days at the pace he set.  Okay, I decided, I was the master here; he had to follow me.   It was a struggle, but I won.

My dog is 18 years old. When we walk around the block, I wind up carrying him the last half. He's good dog.

I also have a shih tsu. When he gets tired he just plops down. No budging will get him up...you just have to wait until he's ready...so, our walks are really stop, sniff, whizz, shuffle and drop

Re: Bogie and me on a stroll
We have a 2 year old golden lab that we got from a rescue group Thanksgiving weekend. She's very eager to please and an angel about everything-except her walks! She pulls me down the street like she's off to the races. I guess I'm getting my excercise. My 2 mile walk usually only takes about 20 minutes compared to teh 35-40 it used to!

Re: Bogie and me on a stroll
Dear Miss Debbie, I am a new fan of your books! In an attempt to keep my brain from completely turning to mush (that happens after child #2 is born...and the only stimulating conversation to be had is, "do you want to color or play play-doh?".... I decided I should start reading more books. Long story short, I picked up a copy of "A Cedar Cove Christmas" and loved it. A couple of nights ago I finished reading "Small Town Christmas" and I must say, I fell in love with Paul & Caroline.... PLEASE bring those characters back to life..... I would love to read more about them! Until then, I'm waiting for the arrival of another book (of yours) that should be coming in the mail any day! I'm glad to have found your books!!! Have fun blogging, writing and walking with Bogie.

No pets, but our adoption went through on our gradnson on Feb 26th and now he is our son. Just shy of 3 weeks to his 2nd birthday. He has been with us since he was 3 days old. What God can Bless you with? Always a miracle.
