A Good Weekend = Shopping, Visiting, Movies
My friend,  Mary Lou Carney, arrives this afternoon from Chicago.  Mary Lou and I wrote The Truly Terribly Horrible Sweater  . . . That Grandma Knit, our first children's picture book, which is due in stores this October.  It’s destined to be a fun weekend with shopping, visiting, and probably a movie or two . . .  and, naturally, popcorn.  (I consider popcorn to be one of the major food groups!)  No doubt we’ll get involved in a plotting session,  and the fun part is that not all our plotting involves books.

have a great time. glad to hear you wrote a childrens book. i volunteer 2 days a week at a local elementary listening to 1st graders read and then take a 5 questions test on the computer, i used to also teach school but retired now. I don't think there are enough good books out there especially for little girls to learn about crafting and hobbies.

Re: A Good Weekend = Shopping, Visiting, Movies
Just wanted to share a true and funny story of how friendships start. Monday of this week my husband and I were sitting on the beach at a resort in Cancun (wow that seems like years ago and not days...its snowing in Ohio as I type this)!! Anyway I am on the beach reading "Married in Seattle" and notice a couple close by that 'resemble' my husband and I (he is snoozing, she is reading, both in the shade of the palm trees, about the same age, etc) and THEN I noticed what she was reading!! "A Good Yarn" AHHHH how funny!! So I flipped over my book to the cover to show her what I was reading and shared a laugh!! The next day we are getting ready to leave, waiting for our van to pick us up and THERE they are again waiting for the van!! We talk, she lives in PA, I live in Ohio, we are both great fans of your writing and so in a resort in Cancun two Debbie Macomber readers become friends...life is just too fun sometimes!!!

Re: A Good Weekend = Shopping, Visiting, Movies
Did someone mention movies? Debbie what movie did you see? I just love the movies and this weekend I saw "Confession of a Shopaholic" This was a very cute movie and I think everyone can relate to this movie. Another movie I saw most recently is "Gran Torino", somewhat sad but good.
Debbie, I am now on book 4 of the Cedar Cove Series and enjoying the story. Your books are so easy to read and I love the characters. I am a slow reader with not much spare time between working two jobs but I have never read a book so quickly. I bought all 8 of them plus about 6 or 7 of other books you wrote. This book reading is a real challenge for me. Take care and best wishes.
