Where am I?
My monthly e-letter went out late yesterday, and already I’m being asked, “Has Debbie permanently moved to Florida?”  The answer is no.  We have a winter home here in Vero Beach, and it looks like we’re going to equally divide our time between our two homes.

This gives me the opportunity to answer two of my most frequently asked questions.  1.  Where do you get your inspiration?  The answer, my friends, is simple.  All the inspiration I need comes from having to make two house payments.  2.)  When will you retire?  Again,  the answer is almost self-explanatory.  I’ll retire when the houses are paid off  (and the ink on our Florida mortgage is barely dry, so I'll be around a long time!).

Re: Where am I?
Yes, I'm thinking I better get on the stick, and maybe I can write myself out of the hole I'm in!

Re: Where am I?
When I read you e-letter last night, that was the first thing that came into my mind, "did you permanently move here?" because you said you were waiting for furniture to get here. Well, you are fitting right in with the northerns. My Aunt Lillian gets her in November and leaves in May to go to Michigan. And she lives over on the island with you at Castaway cove, south of A1A.
In youe-letter you said you were going to be a church here on February 20. I think. I will have to go and check again. That is on a Friday. If it is, I feel a "fever" coming on and it should hit about an hour before your book signing starts!!!!! I will be there!

Re: Where am I?
Hi Debbie, I was surprised to read that you had moved to Florida...then I read further to see where it will be your winter home. As I sit at my computer listening to the sleet hit the windows I can't really say that I blame you. I just bought "8 Sandpiper Way" and am looking forward to reading it. I thoroughly enjoy all of your books and always looked forward to the next one. I have to confess that I am a real "nut" for Christmas, so I really look forward to your Christmas books. Keep those "novel ideas" coming!
Happy New Year and Happy Valentine's Day,

Re: Where am I?
Debbie, I think we need to for a Christmas "Nut" club. My favorite job was the short time I spent in Texas working for a year-round Christmas store. It was wonderful being around Christmas year round. Here in Arizona we do have a radio station that starts playing Christmas music right after Thanksgiving and I love it. I wish we could keep the Christmas Spirit year round. I wish we would strive for more peace and goodwill toward all peoples no matter their race or religion. That we had a smile for everyone and there would be the kind of atmosphere that children would be free to play in their yards and parents would not live in fear of children being stolen. I wish that world existed again for everyone. Now time to get off my soap box and hope that you have a wonderful winter in Florida, just wish you had picked Arizona for your winter home.

Re: Where am I?
Amen to the lady who posted above saying she wished we could keep the Christmas spirit year round. That would indeed be wonderful! I love re-reading Debbie's Christmas books occasionally (even in the summer) to keep me going. Besides her "Angel" books, I really enjoyed the Christmas book that had all the fruitcake recipes.
Debbie...any plans to come to Oklahoma in the near future?

Re: Where am I?
Bless your heart. Mortgages are very good motivation, not to mention health insurance premiums, for all of us to get up and work. :)

Re: Where am I?
Debbie, I just read in the Press Journal about the re-enactment going on in Okeechobee this week. The battle of Okeechobee. Knowing how Wayne loves history, this is a good thing to do. It is this weekend. Check out Page 9 of the Your Hub part of the paper.

Re: Where am I?
I am being surrounded by a Christian romance writers and hoping to do a novella but not sure. I am unsure of me. I know the Lord is not but man, it takes more than a mountain to move me sometimes. I am in sunny Idaho today but tomorrow. Hmm, It could be snowing or raining or real windy. Gotta love it!

Re: Where am I?
I have two daughters living in Melbourne and when they complain about 42 degree weather I come back with "How about 18-20 degrees up here in Massachusetts". That usually has them saying "I'll stay here". Well, I'll stay here because I love the changing seasons and I'm getting too old to relocate!
