Too sick to knit
Oh, woe is me! Picture me with the back of my hand pressed to my fevered brow. I’m down with a bad cold. How sick am I? Let me put it like this: I was too sick to knit. Now that’s really sick for me. I’ve been coughing, wheezing, blowing my nose, and generally feeling wretched. I slept nearly all of Sunday, but don’t know if it was due to needing that much sleep or all the meds I downed. What I really need is Charlotte’s chicken noodle soup. With or without the soup, I’m on the mend and back to work this morning.

Oh no! Debbie, ask Wayne to make some chicken soup and you get your rest. No walking for a while, and be sure to drink lots of water; for some reason, that works for me.

Sorry you are sick. Being too sick to knit, is no fun. I hope you are feeling better soon. Chicken soup sounds good to me and I'm not sick! Too bad you really can't have Charlotte make you some soup!

Sick--not what you want. There will be something that you can use while you are sick.

Re: Too sick to knit
Debbie, I swear by this cure-all for colds, and any kind of respiratory distress: Mix 1 1/2 C. Tang with 1 C. instant tea(I use the decaffeinated kind)and add 1 T. cinnamon, 1t. cloves, 1/2 t. ginger. Be careful while combining all this, because a cloud of tea/Tang may fly into your face. Take a cup of hot, hot water and add 2 heaping teaspoons of the mix. You'll have to stir it like crazy, because the spices don't want to dissolve. If you want it stronger, go for 3 teaspoons next. Adjust all the flavors to suit your tastes. After a day of drinking about 4 cups of this you will be amazingly better, if not well. I'm a substitute teacher and tomorrow I'm subbing for a teacher who fell and broke her wrist when she was on a knitting retreat last weekend with her fellow teachers who are also knitters. Of all things for a knitter to break! Bless her heart. Take care and get well.

Re: Too sick to knit
My son had that nasty cold through his three day weekend from school and was not pleased but doing well enough I think to go to school 1/2 day tomorrow.

Debbie, hope you will be back to normal very soon. Being over-tired lowers your resistance to viruses and bacteria, so "get your rest to be your best"! And chicken soup HAS been proven to help you get over an illness. I hope you have a nearby neighbor who can bring you a pot of it! Best wishes, NM in MN
