Short
I couldn’t stand it any longer.   After months of patiently waiting for my hair to grow out, with visions of moving my head back and forth and my hair going swish, swish, I broke down and had it cut.  Short.  Over-the-ears short.  Florida-comfortable short.  Short enough to crawl out of bed, run a brush through it, and walk out the door.  I think I’m gonna enjoy this!

LOL Debbie!!! My Mama is just like that with her hair!!! She lives in Georgia and when it is time for a good snipping and her beautician isn't around or has the time, a clippin' she shall do herself!! LOL!! Doesn't do a bad job either!! She would surely agree with you on a good hair cut when need be!!

I look at it this way I won't have to look for ways to earn a living I will be getting SS.. in 5yrs... till then my online store will have to do better... CSI tonight He's leaving... unless its a rerun again... like last week

Re: Short
Debbie you reminded me of me. I love long hair and have tried to grow it. It got as long as my lower neck and then I got frustrated with and got it cut. Everyone was amazed at how much it changed the way I look

Re: Short
I have been sufficiently gray to require color since age 20 and until recently kept it nicely hidden but after our son's wedding in August I decided to go for gray and in an attempt to get it going more quickly I got a really short cut which I have never had. I am in my mid 60's and have been told I do not look anywhere nearly that age. I am proud to be the age I am because it truly beats the alternative. My husband of 34years loved it colored and now loves the freedom not being tied to the hair salon and with the financial problems being faced by retired people and the uncertainty of Obamation saving a little money is good, although I am sure he will find a way to take everything we have eventually.

Re: Short
I will be 63 next summer. I will go with out chocolate/food to still get my perm, haircut and I color my hair myself with that "perfect 10" hair color. I still work and when I do retire in 3 1/2 years, THEN I will gave my retirement look. I wil let my gray shine through. But I will always have a perm. I wear it short too. Much easier to get ready for work in the a.m. I meant to mention this the last time I signed on to one of your blogs. Has Wayne turned Floridian or does he still do the northern thing and wear socks up to his knee's? Florida men wear ankle socks. You can always tell a northerner this time of year on the beach walking with knee high socks!! Please tell me Wayne wears ankle socks!!!

Re: Short
Shampoo and go -- that's what I like!! However, in Nov. 2008, my 91-year-old mother, who is in a Level One care center, finally had to give up on perms. She is just too weak to go through the process at the on-site beauty shop. The amazing thing is that she had always had a perm in her hair since 1931! Isn't it great that we have so many choices?

Re: Short
you look great with short hair, my teenage granddaughter has asked me for years when was I going to grow my hair long, I told her honey those days are gone. I like to swim here in Florida and so I gave up the coloring and went to short hair years ago. I taught school until I was 62, I was a late bloomer, didn't start teaching until I was 45, but anyway, as soon as I retired I let my hair go gray and all those years I spent money on highlights were wasted, my hair highlights naturally, wish I had known that. it sure has been cold here, but actually it is nice to dig out the sweaters and wear them for a change. you are right about the socks vbf794, ankle socks for Florida boys or none at all. Also, wear the shorts with your jacket, I married a rare one, he was actually born in Miami, Florida. shampoo and go gets my vote, I am trying to grow the top of my hair out and i can tell by next week, Paul my hairdresser and I are going to have to have an appointment, it is annoying to say the least and i am using hair spray for the first time in years to keep it out of my eyes, it has to go

Re: Short
Two years ago I cut mine real short and thought wow, I like this and it will never be long again. Well now at near 50 years old my hair is in the middle of my back. I must be nuts! LOL!

Re: Short
I used to wear my hair very short, in college and through the early parenting years. Then I let it grow a bit, just past chin-length, and most of the time I like it. However, it is quickly turning gray, and I don't want to color it. I am not a high-maintenance gal. I am thinking I may just have to cut it all off again, and enjoy the ease of not having to wash/dry it daily....I think my hubby is lucky; I buzz his hair off w/the clippers, and he looks great. Hmmmmmmm.
