I'm ready for snow!
A snow and wind storm is predicted for the Seattle area this afternoon.  I can hardly wait.  While most everyone is waiting with dread, I’m nearly giggling with excitement.  You have to understand, I just don’t get to see snow nearly often enough.  That’s one of the downsides of being a snowbird.  At any rate, I have the fireplace all primed, the popcorn popper is set, and the grandkids are scheduled to arrive early afternoon.  This is an ideal situation for fun.

Re: I'm ready for snow!
When I lived up in Michigan I always put on a pot of homemade soup to simmer on the back burner. A cold front came through Vero Beach this afternoon and it is cold....60 degrees!! Got my sweater out!! Too bad you are not down here is weekend Debbie. It is the festival of lights on the boats in the harbor. It is a boat parade. Really pretty.

Re: I'm ready for snow!
I am down here in Fl and we ran the fireplace all afternoon while baking cookies. Yes, my husband bob has the cooking and baking bug and really is a help. Maybe breaking my foot was a God send. I wouldn't mind being inside of a house with the fireplace and popcorn and seeing it snow. I told my sister that in Louisville, KY and i can't print what she said back to me.

Re: I'm ready for snow!
We just had rain here all week. It snowed at the beginning of the month, and was so pretty, but it didn't stick. I'll be baking and scrapbooking anyway.

Enjoy watching the snow come down!

Re: I'm ready for snow!
Enjoy the snow and time with the kids Debbie. Here in West Texas we see a few snow flakes every now and then. When it does snow and barely dust the ground,we act like it is 6ft.deep. Cold we are always getting. Just been having low 20's the last week, with more on the way. We just act like it is snowing sitting by the fireplace and eating popcorn.

Re: I'm ready for snow!
Whoo-hoo Debbie, I am with you. My husband and I are headed to the White Mountains here in Arizona. The resort we are headed to reports snow on the ground and a new storm headed in tomorrow and snow the rest of the week. Living in the Phoenix area the big treat for us is to go to the mountains during winter. We don't ski, sled or hike up there but just sit in front of the fire, drink hot cocoa and watch movies....It is going to be great and I will send you photos. Sometimes my husband wants to go somewhere else but I love the Pinetop-Lakeside area. Small, friendly and oh so much fun. We eat light, take the crockpot and cook out on the patio in the snow. Enjoy Christmas with the family...have fun in Florida.

That sounds like such a blast! I envy you. We don't see too much snow like that down here where I live. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Re: I'm ready for snow!
What a beautiful state we live in, I went down to our vacation property at Ocean Shores (actually Ocean City) last weekend and started reading the first Cedar Grove book. I went back down Friday with 5,6 & 7...and I am wishing I would have slept more than read. The snow was breath taking to wake up to but the drive was stressful. I am going to keep the fire going and finish up 7 tonight. I will be purchasing the christmas in Cedar Cove as soon as I finish 8. I am eager for 9, and to try to bake the 3 day coconut cake.

Re: I'm ready for snow!
A late comment from me. I've been snowbound on the interstate in Idaho since Thursday night. My girlfriends weekend turned into a 3 day stop at a truckstop in Idaho! Oh well. We made it home safely to Spokane last night at 45 mph maximum speed. We also giggled and laughed a lot. Better than crying since our plans in Boise couldn't happen. We never even made it that far. Okay...I've had enough snow & ice for awhile. Hope you enjoyed yours though Debbie.

Re: I'm ready for snow!
*sigh* I wish big snow was in the forecast here (northern VA). Last week, we got about three inches of rain and were under a flood watch for two days. If only, if only...

Re: I'm ready for snow!
HA!!!I can just imagine what Marcia Elaine's sister said. I moved to Louisville, KY three years ago. Snow is nonexistent in Louisville. It's as if Louisville is covered in a plastic bubble protecting it from any of Mother Nature's playful moments. That's just how people like it here, too! Leaving the grocery store a couple of days ago I overheard a young lady tell her mom she was SURE it would snow...Mom became very distraught by that comment and reprimanded her daughter for even mentioning "that ugly word!" At times I attempt to share my sadness for the lack of snow and whoever I might be speaking to quickly reminds me of how thankful I should be. I LOVE SNOW and have given my husband notice...if it doesn't snow this year (today was 61 and rainy) next year we will have two residences. One for winter...a haven where it snows continuously and one this one for all other seasons. I Miss the snow terribly:( Enjoy it for me, Debbie!!
