Costco Shopping is not cheap!
I went to Costco this weekend. That was a big mistake. First off, it seemed every person within a tri-state area had the same idea. I was fortunate to find a parking spot.
My troubles didn’t end there, either. I had my list and I was on a mission; I was there to purchase a turkey and pies and then I was out of there. Then—and I’m sure there was some evil plot afoot that tripped me up—I got waylaid by the free samples. To put it mildly, I ended up purchasing more than a turkey and pumpkin and apple pie. The way I figure it, our bird cost us around $25.00 a pound!

Hey Debbie!
I know that my Uncle used to also live in Washington State and he did quite a bit of his shopping at Costco himself and I do remember him saying how addictive it can be going into that store!! LOL!!

Oh, yeah. I always go for the inexpensive spices and pasta and end of coveting a huge flat screen or pair of leather chairs I have no need for! And the "discount" book section...I could shop all day there!

We don't shop at Costco, but I did have to go to the spice store to buy a vanilla bean, for the apple pie I'm going to make. Those vanilla seeds add such great flavor and it's worth the extra expense.

Boy can I ever relate to this Debbie. The same thing has happened to me at Sams Club. I also drool over the huge flat screen TVs Gillian. It is nice to know I am NOT the same one who has this problem. ;-)

It is always that way with Sam's and Cosco. You need to take a partner to ask "Do you really need that?" They can then help you carry it to the car.

isn't it amazing how much you can save at any of these stores, whether it be Costco, Sam's or BJ's, not, actually you do save, it is just that we see so many other bargains and feel we should save more. Sam's is the nearest one to us in Ocala and they send a printout when it is time to renew your card letting you know how much you saved last year. tricky huh!

Happy Thansgiving to you all! This will be our last Thanksgiving with our three grandbabies together. One is being adopted by us and our other 2 are being adopted by their grandparents on their fathers side and will live in Oregon. So I am THANKFUL the Lord gave us the time with them from birth to now ages 4 and soon 3 to spend with them. No turkey here. Has to be ham for the hubby but it still will be gobble-gobble. LOL Gee in Idaho

Happy Thanksgiving! We also ventured out the the Costco in Spokane this weekend. No parking spaces available at all. We parked 4 blocks away and then there was a long line just to get in the store. Guess what made it worth the wait? Pictures emailed to Costco from Montana of our grandbabies. Believe it or not, we left after getting the pictures-we didn't buy anything else. I think it was the cheapest Costco trip for me yet!

Re: Costco Shopping is not cheap!
When Costco first came to town about 10 years ago we called it the $100 store making a joke off of the $1.00 stores. Today, we call it the $200 store. I ran in one day to buy detergent and left with the detergent and... a new fireplace for the bedroom. No matter what you go in to buy you cannot leave without spending at least $200. I think it is some kind of cosmic rule.
