Unpacking and Repacking

Sunday, our final day of vacation, we had a wonderful visit with our friends Minda and Leon Butler in York, PA. When you read 8 SANDPIPER WAY, note the dedication page, which includes my dear friend.  Minda and Leon gave us a personal tour of York and the fair grounds (Leon is one of the directors of the fair).  They also took us to dinner at the country club (Wayne grumbled, but he gracefully wore something other than his jeans!).  We are headed back to Seattle this evening so I can unpack and then repack for Schaumburg, Illinois for the Stitches Midwest conference.  My knitting needles are already humming.

You seem to enjoy traveling. I can't imagine flying, (I have a phobia) but I think my head would be spinning if I had to move around so much, whether a plane, train or automobile. No wonder you come up with such great stories. You've been everywhere and probably seen and heard more than most of us. Don't you get tired of traveling so much?

Wow! York, PA My family is from the York area, my cousin is the mayor of York, John Brenner. It's such a beautiful part of the country!

Debbie do you ever come to the Orlando area? I see that you'll be in Tallahassee, come farther south! Would love to meet you! I love how real your books feel when I read them. If you ever want to mentor a new author I would love to have you as mine. Thanks!

Re: Unpacking and Repacking
If you ever come to San Antonio I'd love to come to a signing. Uvalde is southwest of San Antonio about 80mi depending on where you are starting from. Small town - wondering what the local library or Walmart or HEB grocery store would do for a book signing here to meet and greet you? Would be so much fun to meet you if we couldn't make it into SA.

Re: Unpacking and Repacking
If you make it back to York to see your friends, I suggest you take them to Bel Paese Italian Ristorante on Memory Lane. Love the food there!... and I was a tourist from Ottawa Canada working at a Woodworking Show at the Arena. This fantastic little place was suggested by a customer at the show. I would go back there again. Hey! I did the very next year and had 2 of my 5 dinners there!
