Chicago

The Niles Public LIbrary  tea and signing last night in a suburb of Chicago was a huge success.  It was an evening to be remembered, with good food, laughter and books!  I am reminded once again of the value of libraries and their commitment to the community.

Today is the start of Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg, IL, and I’m eager for all the activities.  I’m staying at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel, which is incredible.  It’s the first hotel I’ve encountered that features a television in the bathroom mirror!  It is sensor activated.  The first time I walked into the bathroom and the mirror spoke to me, I nearly jumped out of my skin!

Re: Chicago
that is too funny, a talking mirror are we going to read that in your books? Isn't technology really something, it is going so fast. Can't wait to hear about the Stitches Midwest. You take care of yourself, be careful.

Re: Chicago
I am so sad that you are so close and I again will miss seeing you. We are leaving in the morning for a long ago planned trip to the Wisconsin Dells. Our Children and Grandchildren are also going so we should have a lot of fun.

Re: Chicago
I have never heard of a TV in a mirror, but like you, I think I would have been freaked out by a talking mirror.

What new contraptions they think of now days!

Hope you have a great trip!

Re: Chicago
It was truly a pleasure for my daughter and I to meet you at The Yarn Barn book signing at Stitches Midwest last Thursday. I trust you had a good time looking through all the booths and gathering yarn. It would be wonderful to hear what yarns (stories and fibers) you brought home. Thank you again; I believe you have opened the door of possibilities for my daughter through the combination of your love of knitting and writing.

Re: Chicago
Hello there, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed 'Twenty Wishes'. It was a bank holiday in the UK yesterday and I spent the entire day reading. I started at page 13 and went on to finish it. I loved it. There is so much more I can say but 'loved it' covers it. :o)
The children were hungry, the fish never got cleaned out and the laundry is still undone. However, I finished the book and loved it!
