The Art of Relaxation

Wayne and I had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.  We did absolutely nothing.  For most of Saturday I piddled around in my yarn room.  Wayne says I’m like Midas with his gold.  I fondle my skeins, scour through my pattern books, and spend copious amounts of time just sorting through a variety of projects that are just waiting for me to grab my needles.

Oh, Ted (our son staying in our Florida condo) phoned with another question (see post from July 1).  He wanted to know if we kept touch-up paint handy.  Then he laughed and said he was just kidding.

I was so shocked I started screaming.. and I couldn't stop... and then I was so embarressed I could not stop talking and would not try again.. I lost my beach towel in the water... so glad it was a old one.. moral of story stay with what you know works.. tube with bottom would not of lost my towel and would of been dry... as I was last time... thank goodness know one was taking my picture... Re: The Art of Relaxation
Must be a theme for the 4th of July. My hubby and I did nothing spectacular either. It was the first year none of our kids were around to join us. Our "baby" is 19 and visiting Grandma in Nebraska for a week before he moves to Japan on the 10th He finished his Masters Degree at Eastern WA University in June and is going off on his own to teach English in an elementary school in the northernmost reaches of Japan. This is the third one to leave home and the last also. I'm having a tough time reconciling myself to him leaving and so far away too.

Anyway, hubby and I barbequed alone on Friday and I spent Saturday sorting through my yarn too! I have 3 projects in the works and I'm looking for a filet crochet pattern for bedroom curtains. I thought I had one, but no luck finding it yet...and of course I was distracted by all that yarn. LOL Betsy in Spokane

Re: The Art of Relaxation
Our daughter and her two kids Ian and Paige came over from Orlando. It has been too dry to do fireworkds so we all watched them on TV. We had to laugh she was telling me about you having a book with 3 writers and she is trying to finish it before she went back home to let me have to read. She was sitting beside my lounge chair and she said mom you all ready have the book. I thought she was talking about an old book which really the paperback is a reissue. One must listen to their children better I guess. Anyway, that is two of us that bought the paperback. They go home tomorrow and I have dr appointments this week and the dentist so my book of choice to carry around is the new paperback.

We watched fireworks on Miracle Mile here in Vero Beach. They fired them off over Veterans Island on the Lagoon. I bet Ted and his family watched them at the marina down in Fort Pierce. They were good. I am on vacation this past week and I to have been looking over projects to. Too hot to pull weeds out of my geraniums.

My kids and I spent the 4th in McCall Idaho for our church camp. It was a real great time and was great for spiritual growth as well. My son was baptized so that was the highlight of camp for me.
