How Different We Are

Wayne and I are gradually settling into our lives here in Washington.   We love living in Florida, too, but Port Orchard will always be home.  One of the things we especially enjoy in Port Orchard is watching movies at home, and we’ve been having fun with that this week.  Our tastes are vastly different, so we take turns choosing which ones to watch.

It was years ago when we first discovered the vast difference in our tastes.   Wayne  wanted to watch Harley and the Marlboro Man, and I was itching to see the newly released Bambi.  The chasm  continues.  This week  Wayne watched The Kingdom, and I stood the violence as long as I could by hiding my eyes.  Last night it was my turn.  I chose Andrea Bocelli in concert.  I’m happy to report Wayne didn’t plug his ears once.

Re: How Different We Are
I brought Knit Together to Ft. Wayne for your autograph. I have read at lunchtime once a week with a little girl for the past three years. She struggles so hard to read, and I have been discouraged because so much depends on reading. To read in "Knit Together" that you were not a good reader in your early years, but have been successful in life has been an encouragement to me. She may not be a writer, but perhaps she can be successful at something. Thank you for being open about your life so that it's an encouragement for those that have difficulty reading!

Our's are television shows. So when it happens to be his night. I stick my nose in a good book, as most my computer time is when all kiddos are down for the night. Got a daughter going off to college 2 months from today and I am already missing her. Ps. I am still a Bambi watcher. :)

Oh Debbie I love Andrea Bocelli! He is my all time favorite. Being a full blooded Italian I even understand the words! Theres one song he sings, Mille Lune, Mille Onde, my Grandpa used to bellow that out on his accordian. Every time I hear it it brings tears to my eyes along with fond memories of my 'Papa'.

Re: How Different We Are
I'm so glad that you made it home safely. What a long trip you and Wayne had. It's always nice to come home ...especially to grandchildren.

My hubby has been out of town for a few weeks, so when he is gone I try to watch all the movies I know he would not want to see. All the romantic ones!

I really enjoyed meeting you in Utah at The Wool Cabin. I was so inspired and uplifted by your talk that night ...I still catch myself sometimes thinking about some of the topics you spoke of. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into your daily and writing life. ....alice
