Meeting East Coast Readers

Right after Mother’s Day I hit the ground running, meeting readers in Baltimore, Maryland; Providence, Rhode Island, and Portland, Maine.  Thanks so much  to everyone who has come out to meet me!

Not only have I been traveling, but on the plane and in my room at night I've been proofing manuscript pages sent to my tour hotels by my editor. (For those of you eager for the next Cedar Cove book, rest easy.  One of my tasks last week was reading over the edited version of 8 Sandpiper Way, Number 8, due out August 26.   You’ll be happy with this next installment, I promise!

I did get to rest a bit this past weekend.  I had a traditional Lobster Feed, which means, if I understand it correctly, the lobster was steamed in seawater, and it was fabulous.  This is different from what I’m accustomed to, and I loved it.

The next cities on my itinerary are Hartford, Connecticut; Buffalo, New York, and Vero Beach, Florida.  I’m looking forward to meeting readers there and sampling the local cuisine!

Re: Meeting East Coast Readers
Hi Debbie, aren't you on a roll! Good for you, how do you do it though? Well, while you let us know about your Seafood cuisine experiences on the East Coast, I was at Chapter 46 on 6 Rainier Drive. Needless to say, Justine was having Seafood, during her last lunch with Warren Saget. I just could not blog back any earlier here because putting the book down was not an option. Now I have, and still got 74 Seaside Avenue to enjoy. I guess you can tell by now that I am hooked on the Cedar Cove series. Blossom Street, which is partly on my shelf, could not find all of them at Borders, will have to wait for a while.
Keep keeping us up-to-date on your tour, YOu know we are eager to read from you. Cheers and safe travels as always!

Re: Meeting East Coast Readers
Hi Debbie,
I can't wait to see you here in Vero Beach on Saturday. I will be the one carrying my first dishcloth that I ever knitted. The one with the hole in the middle! I want to show you that I have started to knit because of you. You have to go to Jack's Lobster Shanty on Royal Palm Pointe (down the road from the book center where you are signing) when you come to Vero. It is on the Indian River Lagoon by the Barber Bridge. Nice view of the River.

Re: Meeting East Coast Readers
DEBBIE! have you ever wondered why "people" buy your books, you know the ones that do not know about you and all your book series? Just by being attracted to either the title, or the intro, or what's written on the back?
Why do I ask you this? Because I bought 6, Rainier Dr. because of the title. Why? I was an au-pair girl from Switzerland in 1978 in Vancouver BC, saw Mt. Rainier for the first time on a clear sky from the distance, sitting on Vancouver Island in Victoria. It took my breath away. There you have it. Little did I know, that so many years later I'd be reading your Cedar Cove series, which just bring back so many memories from way back then - seing Mt Rainier that is. Thought I'd share that with you.Best still during your tour! Esther - still in Dallas

Re: Meeting East Coast Readers
It was wonderful meeting you in Brunswick . It's fabulous that your shoulder is back to normal. What a painful surgery that is. Were you able to go to the Knitting Experience store ? I saw the owner at the book signing. It is a fabulous store and it is very dangerous for me to go there ! I have signed up for their class on knitting lace. There is an elegant lace shawl hanging in the store that I have admired so.... I must learn to do it. Glad you enjoyed a real lobster bake and being in Maine.
