Packing my bags

My bags aren’t packed, and I’m not ready to go . . . but I’m getting there.  I’ve sorted out the knitting projects I’ll be taking:  at last count it was four.  I know that sounds like a lot, and I can’t possibly finish each one, but each is necessary.

My books are ready to go, too.  Wayne bought me the Sony Reader and it’s a good thing, because five books arrived that need to be read for a contest before June first.  And so . . . I’ve got a total of eight books  plus the Sony Reader ready for the suitcase.  Then of course there are clothes to pack.   I’m just not sure if I have enough underwear for seven weeks.

Re: Packing my bags
Good luck with your packing dear Debbie! I am sure you won't be able to be without your knitting projects, just a small reminder for you that by the time you get to Texas, it will even be hotter than today, which is 82F in the shade. Anyways, do you have hotel accommodation in Dallas already? If not, I could offer you a real nice place which is only 10 minutes away from Borders' bookstore of your signing. I am doing a lot of business for conventions etc. with this hotel, and would be happy to book you a room there. If you are interested, ask Heidi to give you my e-mail addy, and we'll go from there. Best of luck on your trip, and oh, as you remember, I am fairly new to reading your books. Today I just started 16 Lighthouse Road..!!
Cheers! Esther in Dallas TX

I can't wait to see you again here in Vero Beach. Good gosh, don't forget your underwear. I don't think I would "borrow" underwear. And, What is a Sony reader?
I will be the one holding up two of her dish clothes that she knitted!

Re: Packing my bags
Debbie...I am so nervous. I am going to be at your Deerfield, Illinois location coming this Saturday. My trip was a surprise from my future daughter-in-law. (Well it was a surprise until I got your notice in the mail and got so excited about your being near my location...then she had to spill the beans). Since Christmas (2007) when I was introduced to you as an author by a close friend I have read over 30 of your books and have started my own "Debbiebrary" (a collection of your books). I do look forward to meeting you. You'll be able to recognize me. I'll be the one that is shaking alot saying Ah...Ah.
Best wishes and God's blessings on your safety as you travel. Love, Mountainrose (Mountainrose)

Re: Packing my bags
P.S. Debbie... I'd gladly give you the shirt off my back if you ever needed it. But, when it comes to underwear your on your own. I've spent so much $$$ money on your books in the past several months that I am down to 2 pairs myself. I literally stand in the store and say to myself "
Debbie's book...or underwear?" Hmmmmm.

Re: Packing my bags
I received an invitation to your book signing on 5/5 in Birminghm, AL yesterday. I have literally prayed for such an opportunity, but I'm afraid I won't be able to attend. I'm scheduled to go on a day trip with my Seniors group from church and we may not get back in time. I hope we do, but there is a packed program and I'm just not sure. At any rate, have a great time while you are in my city!

You will do fine. Just remember to breathe in--breathe out. I'm sure that you will even get your reading done.

Re: Packing my bags
Debbie, the guys always say you can turn the underwear inside and get another day out of them, (I think not). I have read everything I have here of yours and so have to visit a used book store for some of your oldie but goodies ones. I don't know who turned loose of them but I am ever so grateful, some of them are ones you can't get online anywhere. I was so delighted last year to meet you in Dunedin, so I am happy others will get a chance to find out what a wonderful person you are. I am into machine embroidery with my husband but you can't take it anywhere so I keep other projects in my car bag or backpack for the plane. I wish someone would send me the directions for the dishcloths or what book they are in. Happy a great trip as you always do, we will all being thinking of you and praying for a safe journey. sincerely

Re: Packing my bags
Debbie...What a genuine pleasure it was to meet you at Saturday's(4/26)Deerfield, Illinois signing. What a generous and gracious lady you are! You took such kind patience with each of us waiting to meet you. Giving of yourself to each and every one of us. As I left the Hyatt Regency and I was on my way home I felt that it had indeed been one of the best days of my life and I'll treasure that experience. Thank You for sharing this time with me.
