I Cannot Live Without Books

Like Thomas Jefferson, I cannot live without books.  Last year, while on tour, I carted nine books with me.  I am not making this up.  Nine books.  I had my Bible, my journal, (actually, two journals) two or three novels, and then I found a couple of cookbooks I couldn’t live without.  You get the picture.  By the time I headed home my suitcase weighed more than I did.  A few months later I had rotator cuff surgery, which is a good indication of exactly how heavy the suitcase was.  In preparation for this upcoming tour my sweet husband purchased a Sony Reader and downloaded the Bible and several other books for me.  Technology is a wonderful thing.

Sony reader. That sounds like something I should have. Never heard of it. Have to look into it. I walk and listen to books on tape.

Re: I Cannot Live Without Books
how wonderful, what a great idea, he is so good, sounds so much like my hubby. I never thought I would want an e-book but you have given me a reason to have one. Thanks, now I know what to ask for when they say mom what do you want for mother's day, an e-book, my best friend has one and I wasn't sure I had a need for one but you have changed my mind. Especially being able to have the Bible with me without carrying a big book. Got to go have a meeting at church tonight,

Wayne is wonderful! And you know you would never have purchased that Sony Reader for yourself.

I was surprised by a laptop for my birthday a couple years ago. Ron bought it for me because he knew I wouldn't do it myself.

God brings wonderful men into our lives. He also brought me a couple idiots, so that when I found someone as good as Ron, I knew it and could appreciate it.

I have a little MP3 player so I can listen to audio books. I can't live without them either!

Re: I Cannot Live Without Books
I too can not live with out books, I always had 2 books in my purse and then a box in the trunk, never know where you will be when you finish one and need another...LOL

I purchased a Sony Reader in January in hopes of clearing out some of the clutter AND giving my back a break from carrying around a big heavy purse....absolutley love the reader, but I still need my books too, for those that cant be downloaded as of yet. And of course I have about 75 books in my Reader, my husband calls me a "Book Junkie".

I have downloaded everything that Sony E Books has under your name, hoping there will be more soon.

Take Care!!

I think i'll look into the Sony Reader too! Collecting "keeper" books can be overwelming sometimes. Thanks for the tip!

Woo Hoo! Preach on, girlfriend! I always have at least two or three great books going at the same time; major coping skill here! Debbie, I am so happy that your sweet Wayne cherishes you and has downloaded everything to a lovely, light travel-friendly version!
