Walking Partner
My walking partner, Martha Powers, and I, walked on the track for the first time this winter. Martha has had a number of health issues, and between my travel schedule and her doctor appointments, it took us until March to finally get in our two-mile trek. It was a joy to see her again. In and out of the hospital, Martha’s one complaint, after spending a total of a week there, walking the halls and riding the elevators, not once did she find the cocktail lounge!

Re: Walking Partner
I'm with Martha I spent 14 days there, never found the cockatil lounge or the pool. For the price they charge you'd think that they would at least offer it. (ha ha)

Re: Walking Partner
Yes, you would think they could offer some type of normal life, what is a day without a glass of wine at least. A heated pool would speed recovery along quite nicely too. You have my husband Bob and I beat we only go for a mile right now, he has health issues too. Me, I go to Curves 3x a week and try to walk with Bob twice a week. I know we should do more but twice is better than not at all. Now that the weather here has turned loverly, yes, loverly, we will go more often. I know we are wimps as we live not too much farther north than you in Citrus County, the people up north will get a laugh out of this, it has been too cool right. Take care and enjoy the sights of nature.

Re: Walking Partner
It is still too yucky here, for me to walk. I walk by myself, as I haven't found anyone to walk with. We have a beautiful Cemetary close to where I live. It's very peaceful, I know many people and family members, no big dogs to attack, or speeding cars or bicycles to dodge. That's where I walk :). I too have many health issues. Been in and out of the hospital. Am in remission right now. I tell ya, I've been down the road to recovery so many times, I'm waiting for my Frequent Flyer Miles!!

Re: Walking Partner
I agree with Susi. It's still to cold to walk here in northern Illinois. I love to walk and in our town there are many walking paths. I would love to walk there, but not yet. Besides that I would have to walk to get to the walking paths and then I could just turn around and go home.

Re: Walking Partner
Can't do much walking but once the weather clears up will get the stroller out for the grandbaby and do a little. We also will be going to the YMCA starting next month so that will be nice as well.

Re: Walking Partner
A cocktail lounge would be fantastic along with the hospital staff looking like the cast of Grey's Anatomy! :) I am struggling to keep one of my Lent goals of exercising 3x a week. The weather is cooperating, but my kids are a different story! I guess lapping mom on the loop around the house is no longer a good source of entertainment!
