I do miss that part of south Florida, we moved up here May 2006 from Palmetto Bay, FL which is south of Miami. We also miss the keys but they do have Cedar Key up here. We are getting ready to rent a houseboat and tour the Suwannee river. This state has a lot to offer people who like nature, our coast is called the Nature Coast. Glad you had a good trip and visit with your friends. We are taking our best friends on the houseboat tour. (we known each other for 32 years and lived all over the world together) it should be great fun. We try to go somewhere each year around the United States as we all lived overseas together and didn't see the states.

That sounds like fun. Some day I would like to take that kind of trip.

I remember crossing Alligator Alley, when I drove a semi. I ALWAYS looked for Gators! I wanted to see one free. One time, I realized I was in Tenn. and STILL looking along side of the road!! LOL Ahh, the goofy things I used to do, ahhhh the goofy things I STILL do..lol

Sorry you had a cold weekend to visit friends here in Florida. Daughter was here from Michigan and she says "Mom, I came for some sun". We have baby alligators in our canal by our house here in Vero Beach.

My daughter went on a college week in Hobe Sound FL. She calls me from a canoe ride and says, Mom guess what I am doing? I said what honey? She says I am in the canoe with the Youth Pastor and some other teens and we are looking for alligators. I yelled into the phone WHAT? I hear the Youth Pastor in the background, "Tell your mother to be quiet we are looking for alligators." I am so glad she has decided to go to school by the Pacific Ocean instead of the Atlantic Ocean. LOL!
