The Frozen North

I’m back from the frozen north, meaning Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota.  I was traveling with my cousin Karen, on our way to the Warm Up America! Knit Out at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.  With the wind chill factor, the temperature in South Dakota registered at -100 degrees.  You read that right:  MINUS 100 degrees!!!

On the way, we stopped off in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The reason for this small detour (thank you cousin Karen for driving!) was to visit our precious 97-year-old Aunt Betty.  We had such a wonderful time with her, playing a card game called TIC.  Aunt Betty cleaned us out.  She’s amazing, and I want to be just like her when I turn 97.

Wellll, are ya thawed out, yet? I hope for our sake, that you get to clean everybody else out in cards, Debbie, but selfishly, I hope you are still writing at 97!

Good for Aunt Betty, what a blessing to be like that, we should all wish for a long healthy life. Did you find out what her secrets were for a long life?

Re: The Frozen North
Glad your back Debbie. Tomorrow I'm on my way to the frozen area. Omaha, Nebraska to be exact. My mother-in-law says the forecasted wind chill for when we land is supposed to be -45. Yuck! Just when Spokane is warming up, I leave for the winter wonderland!

I just got back from the north too. Br-r-r-r-r-r. One good thing, my sister taught me to knit! Dishclothes!
Good to be back to warm Vero Beach

Re: The Frozen North
We do freeze up here, however, it is nice to curl up with a good book (Debbie, do you hear me) and read on these cold days.

Has anyone noticed the Friday Night Knitting Club appears to be a rip off of Blossom Street??

Re: The Frozen North
Well, we are warmer than that in Idaho with a high near 60 today. So it makes me feel like spring is just around the corner now. Is this Friday Night Knitting Club by a different writer? Doesn't matter Debbie is one of the best. But she also knows I am pretty partial to Robin Lee Hatcher as well. Debbie's get read first though. :)

Re: The Frozen North
My mom and her 2 sisters from North Dakota saw you at the Mall of America Saturday at Barnes & Noble bookstore before your book signing and were so excited to have met you in person and get a picture with you. I was supposed to be with them but unfortunately my 3 year old gave me her flu bug so I had to stay home. You gave my mom your personalized baseball card to give to me. Thank you so much, that was so nice of you! My mom said you were such a delightful person and will always remember that day. I hope to one day meet you in person too. Thanks again Debbie for thinking of me!!
