Just do it!

I’m having a rough time getting back into my exercise regimen.  Wayne and I landed in Florida with wretched colds, my walking partner got sick, and soon it was two weeks into the New Year with zero, zilch exercise.  A funny thing happens to me when I don’t exercise:  I get sluggish and tired and—okay, I’ll admit it—cranky.  It’s just so easy to put it off.

Well, I broke the ice yesterday and rode a stationary bike for twenty minutes.  It about killed me, but I felt worlds better afterwards.  There’s a good lesson in this for me.  Just do it.  Don’t rationalize, don’t procrastinate, don’t make excuses.  Just get those legs pumping and do it.

Re: Just do it!
It is hard to get back on track after a cold or surgery. I had 3 major surgeries last year and had to wait at least a month each time. If it hadn't been for my exercising buddy I probably would still be sitting and reading and not exercising. Now this year I have told myself you can't read another of Debbie's books if you don't go to Curves and exercise. My husband Bob and are also cleaning out cupboards and cabinets and put in really neat slide out drawers and that is keeping my hands busy from eating. I haven't seen a big loss on the scale but my clothes feel better and I have more energy, usually Ihave a 3 pm slump but now get right past it. Take care, don't over do and rest those muscles on the in between days.

All of my muscles ache and am being tested and treated for MS. It's all I can do to walk thru the grocery. I used to exercise and ride horses before I got cancer last year. Most ppl get skinny and sickly. I got fat and sickly! LOL. I am going to find something I can do without the major pain. That's me tho, Just Do It and get it over with! LOL

Re: Just do it!
I as well have chronic issues that prevent me from exercising but I have chased my grandbabies since we got the first one at 5 weeks old. Soon the two older ones will leave and we will just have the little guy who is 10 months and about ready to walk. I read most the time when I get a free moment but when it is just him I plan on crocheting again.

Re: Just do it!
I can't exercise right now - I weigh too much! But I do try to walk when I can.

HOWEVER - my problem is that I have no motivation to "write what I bite" - Weight Watchers rule. And so... I bite...and bite... and gain.
