When it rains, it pours!
Did you hear about the rain and wind storms that struck the Pacific Northwest? I’ve lived in Washington State my entire life and I’ve never seen it rain the way it hit yesterday. A huge sink hole developed just down the road from my office and the street was blocked on both ends. To say it was an adventure to get home would be an understatement. There are mud slides, flooding, freeway closings and just about everything else you can imagine. I’ve been hearing about the drought in other areas of the country. If anyone out there would like some of our precipitation, just say the word, we’ll be happy to send it your way.

Re: When it rains, it pours!
Just saw on the national news the terrible weather you are experiencing in Seattle and the sink hole you refer to. We are getting snow about 5 inches in Central Minnesota today and your storm to arrive here on Saturday forecaster day. Debbie I see you will be at the Mall of America for Knit Out, do you know which day or will it be both days. I would like like to meet you since you got me interested in reading with "For a Good Yarn". We keep everyone in your area in our hearts and prayers.

Re: When it rains, it pours!
A good friend from church spent the weekend in Leavenworth with three girlfriends for their annual "Girls Weekend". She had the same experience as you. A 10 hour drive back to Spokane instead of the usual 4 to 5 hour trip. She's NOT anxious to do that again. Meanwhile, here in Spokane all of our beautiful "Christmas Snow" that fell last week is not gone with temperatures in the 5o's and 2 inches of rain! What's up with this weather?

Re: When it rains, it pours!
I meant to say "now gone" not "not gone". How silly of me and shows that I'm not a very good typist. I crochet and knit much better! :-)

Re: When it rains, it pours!
Was 57 today in Idaho with snow in the forecast but all we have seen is wind. We our Southwest Idaho so do not get the weather like Northern Idaho.

Re: When it rains, it pours!
We sure could use some of your rain down here in Florida. It has still been very dry. We are going down to 33 degrees here in Central Florida tonight and that is cool for us. We do have beautiful days though, so can't complain.

Re: When it rains, it pours!
Hello, I just heard on national news this morning that Port Orchard was one of the towns in Washington that received a lot of damage due to the weather. I sincerely hope and pray that everything is okay with you and your family and that all of you are staying safe and dry.

Re: When it rains, it pours!
Oh my goodness!! Sounds like you could difinitely share some of that down pour. I live in north Alabama and we are having a drastic drought. Our water is in scarce supply, crops have failed, farmers are in desperate situations. We've been asked to only flush our toilets when it's just absolutely necessary. If we do get the least little bit of rain the ground absorbs it quickly. We haven't seen anything green in quite a while. Our prayer will be that we get some of the rain that you obviously do not need. May God bless you and yours as we enter this blessed holiday season. Joy to the world !!!

Re: When it rains, it pours!
I wondered what was happening with you along with the other authors that I follow (it seems you all live in the same area!!) Linda Lael Miller finally blogged that she was home; the only one that hasn't updated is Susan Wiggs :-( Hope they are fine!I will have to read your book, "Can this be Christmas?" We were stuck in Chicago on Saturday at Union Station trying to get back to Milwaukee! The ice storm was bad and last night we were dumped with 5 inches of snow! I think this calls for a hot toddy and good read!

Re: When it rains, it pours!
Wow. Do your kids live close enough to help? What did they do during the storm this week?

Re: When it rains, it pours!
Hey Debbie, I'm greatly relieved to read that you're safe and well after the monster storms. I'm back in Co presently awaiting the same storm to come our way and dump some of the white stuff. So far, nothing! I think the Pacific northwest used it all up! Take care and stay warm and dry.

Re: When it rains, it pours!
Debbie, I saw the news about Washington State and immediately thought of you, Wayne and the rest of the family. I'm glad to hear that everyone is okay! Have a wonderful Christmas and a safe trip to Florida - and I'm sure they would be thrilled if you could bring some of that rain with you! It's currently snowing here in PA.

Re: When it rains, it pours!
I agree with Jenny from Alabama. Indiana is also short in the rain department. We are 9.75 inches short for the year. The hay situation for our cattle we feed is not good. Snow is predicted for late tonight and tomorrow. All moisture is greatly appreciated. Hope all is OK with you and your family Debbie. Thanks for all the fantastic books. And a very Merry Christmas to you.

Re: When it rains, it pours!
I am praying for those that are caught up in the raining and flooding. We could use some here.
