Stress & Chocolate
Categories: Christmas
Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m stressed to the max. Wayne and I are leaving next Wednesday, December 19, for a family vacation in Hawaii. This means I have to have everything ready for Christmas, plus finish my current writing project, hold two parties at the house, pack and, . . . . well, you get the idea.
I didn’t realize how stressed I was until I noticed I ate chocolate for breakfast. To be completely fair, it was chocolate-covered cranberries. As we all know, chocolate does have medicinal qualities, especially dark chocolate, which is what I ate. And cranberries. . . well, nutritionally they rank right up there with cod liver oil, so all in all it wasn’t a bad choice. In fact, now that I think about it, I just might have chocolate for breakfast tomorrow, too.

Oh Debbie your the best! All I could think of was a very old (yes I'm dating myself!) Bill Cosby record "Daddy Made Us Eat Chocolate Cake for Breakfast"..but his theory was similar to yours....milk, eggs etc were in the cake so why not eat it for breakfast! I'm going to have to agree with you! Heck I used to eat pizza for breakfast, of course now if I did,,,,I'd be having the worst case of heartburn! ah the Golden Years!

I am with you, chocolate is definitely okay for breakfast especially if you had cranberries.

Chocolate anytime is okay! But totally awesome for breakfast. Have an awesome time in Hawaii with your family.

Chocolate for breakfast? I don't see a problem with that-he-he! Have a super time in Hawaii, Debbie and Wayne; sounds like you're gonna need a rest!
P.S. For those of us who have diabetes and miss chocolate, Russell Stover's sugar-free caramel and pecan candy (like "Turtles") are totally awesome, and relatively guilt-free, if you don't eat the WHOLE BAG (but that's another story)!

Nothing wrong with chocolate for breakfast. I eat a piece of chocolate every morning, this time of year, as I always buy an Advent calender with chocolate behind each date until Christmas!! Cranberries are the best, too. Here in Maine, we use them a lot.
Have a great time in Hawaii. I envy you!!

Hawaii AND chocolate. The best and the best! Coming from an avid chocoholic, it's okay to eat for breakfast especially when stressed because of the new dark chocolate dietary guidelines and how beneficial it is. (Didn't that sound official?) And Hawaii? It has snowed for the past 7 days in Spokane and is predicted every day at leaset until Christmas. I'll hide in your bag, just get me away from the shovel!

Re: Stress & Chocolate
I should stock up on chocolate for the next couple of days. We are supposed to get a real "Nor Easter" here in Central Maine. We are definitely having a White Christmas this year. I love it, except for driving in the white stuff. Debbie, I will think of you in sunny Hawaii, as we get snowed in!!!

Oh Debbie I can relate! We had the nor'easter here and I sent my husband to the store before it hit. I made a grocery list for him too! It was milk, eggs, bread and, you guessed it! CHOCOLATE!
