Mrs. Christmas & Mr. Humbug
Categories: Christmas
At nine-thirty last night our phone rang. Both Wayne and I were in bed (remember, the alarm is set for 4 a.m.). On the other end of the line was my friend and radio personality, Delilah. “Turn your radio on,” she said excitedly. “I’m talking about you.” I fumbled for the dial and sure enough, Delilah was telling her listening audience about her friend, author Debbie Macomber, who is better known at this time of year as Mrs. Christmas. She went on to explain that I was married to Mr. Humbug and how Wayne and I are so cute together. Wayne was not overly amused. He doesn’t like being referred to as cute. I, on the other hand, thought it was adorable.

Re: Mrs. Christmas & Mr. Humbug
I love it, I too, for many years was married to bah! humbug, now he has retired he is worse than me about decorations and worrying about gifts for the kids and grandkids, I can really relate. The grown kids even gave him a ball hat one year that said bah! humbug and a tee-shirt from disney that said scrooge. All is forgiven now, this week he is still making wooden snowmen for the front yard and he was bummed out he missed our little town's Christmas parade. I really laughed when I read your blog. Merry Christmas and keep on going, it will happen, scrooge will become the spirit of Christmas, from Elaine in central Florida.

Hi Debbie: Congratulations on being "on air" when in bed!
:-) I used to love listening to Delilah but haven't been able to find her for several months on our local stations. Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and Bah Humbug to Wayne.

Ha ha Debbie! I have one of those too. Mr. humbug drags the tree upstairs and puts it together, lights it up and says, ok, my part's done! That's his participation. But I wouldn't have any other Scrooge, for sure.

Re: Mrs. Christmas & Mr. Humbug
I am the Bah Humbug in the family most years but this year with the grandbabies I think it will be different. For one reason, I am blessed. This is my second year as a Christian. Was when I was younger but decided I could go it alone. Oops, that was wrong...Jesus IS the Reason for Christmas.
