A Mystery

When I went to bed last night, I set the alarm for 4 a.m. and was in bed by 9:30 p.m.   Then it started.  A beeping sound that came every two minutes, like clockwork.  It couldn’t be the fire alarm battery because we recently changed them all.  Beep.  Beep.  Beep.  Two hours later we still couldn’t distinguish the source.  I stuffed cotton in my ears, placed a pillow over my head, and finally fell asleep at 12:30 a.m.  The sound was gone by morning, and it shall forever remain a mystery.   And no, I didn’t get up at four with the alarm.  That would have taken a better woman than me!

Re: A Mystery
I'm betting it was a cell phone as my daughter in laws does that occasionally. We can't turn it off!

Hi capecod60...yes, you may be right. My daughter's cell phone did that until it died;(

Re: A Mystery
Our wonderful cells. Hard to believe, we use to live without them.

Re: A Mystery
I still do! and I try very hard not to answer the home phone when I am at home, I just let it ring to the answering machine and when it's important I pick up. It works for me.

Re: A Mystery
Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago Debbie. And yes, it was the dreaded cell phone! and it was my 11 year old Godson who figured it out. Ah technology, can't live with it but sure as heck don't want to be without it either!

Re: A Mystery
I had a pedometer do that once. It was in a desk drawer and I didn't realize it had an alarm on it and it went off the same time every night. Took me quite a few days before I discovered what and where it was.

Re: A Mystery
I have a dishwasher that beeps. If the delay start time has been set, and then the dishwasher is opened, it will beep periodically. It took me quite some time to figure it out.
