Yarn Harlot

I've been working on my knitting lately, finishing up a number of small projects and getting ready to knit others.  I finished the socks for my son, added the fringe to an afghan I knit for my brother, did the last of the beading work on a scarf project, and finished up two hats.

Stephanie Pearl-McPhee is known as the Yarn Harlot, and I know exactly what she means.  I hate to admit it, but I’m one, too.

I have a number of really wonderful projects all ready and waiting to be knit.  They’re neatly arranged in my yarn room, patiently waiting their turn.  Then some fancy new yarn will catch my eye and I decide I can’t live without it.  I buy the yarn, lavish it with attention, show it off to my friends, and turn my back on those waiting projects in order to start something new and wonderful with that new yarn just like a . . . well, a yarn harlot.

Re: Yarn Harlot
I know what you mean. I have alot of unfinished projects. When I retire, I shall finish them totally. I found a instructions on how to make knitted mittens and I want my sister to teach me how. I can make crochet ones. I got your book 2006 Christmas letters. I am reading it now. Have to pass it along to my other Debbie Macomber addicts!

I am like that with fabric and scrapbooking papers! I sometimes wonder if it's a disease...perhaps there should be a 12 step program for craft supply addicts? Debbie, enjoy your yarn! At least you got some projects finished, that's great.

Re: Yarn Harlot
I had an opportunity to hear the Yarn Harlot speak in Wichita last month...what a hoot! I've found that I, too, have projects pulled and then find a new yarn to lust after. Those poor projects....pushed to the back in favor of a newer, younger, prettier yarn! Shame on me!

Re: Yarn Harlot
It warms the cockles of my heart, to know no matter where
we are in the world, we can all be yarn harlots. I think I will have till I live to 100 to knit all the yarn I have in my stash. I was curious Debbie to know what you knitted with the possum wool that you bought in New Zealand, or is that in the 2 be knitted bundle.
Hope you had a wonderful birthday

Re: Yarn Harlot
I read Christmas Letters. It was my first Debbie Macomber book and Debbie you are my favorite authoress. I always feel I am there in your stories, relating to them.

I have yarn projects here and there too. I'm one of those who swear I'll get around to it!
