The Volunteer State
Categories: Knoxville
Tennessee is known as the Volunteer State. If I understand this correctly, the term goes back to the time of the Alamo when a large number of men from Tennessee volunteered to fight. From what I can see, the tradition continues. I'm in Knoxville as part of the Literacy celebration and have been touched and encouraged by the dedication of these volunteers. Knoxville is experiencing summer-like weather. Yesterday it hit 91 degrees. I brought autumn clothes. That's OK; I look good with a sheen on my face.

Re: The Volunteer State
Hi Debbie! I hope you're having a wonderful time in Knoxville! If you have time after your book signing there, please take I-40 over to Nashville and go straight down south on I-65. We would love to see you in Birmingham, AL! :)

Our weather is unpredictable around here. I saw you on one of our local stations today and I am so excited that you are here in East TN! I'm planning on making the 1 1/2 hour drive with my Mother and sister to come see you at the bookstore tomorrow. We've been big fans for a long time.

Debbie, it was such a pleasure having you in my shop last week. Some of the regulars that come to The Yarn Haven were very disappointed to have missed you. I have enjoyed reading your books and look forward to more in the future. Hope you'll come back to the shop the next time you visit Knoxville. Blessings, Sandy
