The Rules of Chocolate

I have a crime to report.  My dear friend Lois Faye Dyer (check out the February 2006 anthology, Hearts Divided we both had novellas in it, mine a Cedar Cove story) stopped by to visit recently.  Along with a get well card, she brought me a number of goodies to aid the healing process.  Included in this package of treats was a chocolate bar.  Not just any off-the-counter chocolate; this was a Cadbury bar—dark chocolate.  In my humble opinion, dark chocolate is the very best.

While I was at work, my first day back, my husband, Wayne ate the entire chocolate bar.  He didn’t even bother to hide the evidence.  All that was left was the wrapper, which was on the sofa.  He claimed I left it out in plain view and I hadn’t eaten it.  Of course I hadn’t eaten it; I was saving it for a special occasion.  I’m working on forgiveness.

Re: The Rules of Chocolate
Debbie I have a suggestion. Hide your candy bars in your knitting bag. I keep mine in a plastic bag under my yarn. Saves a lot of stress trying to remember what I've done with my favorite candy. Which happens to be that new Hersheys peanut butter filled candy bar. To die for!

Re: The Rules of Chocolate
I do believe that the rules clearly state that Wayne must replace the candy three-fold and then treat for a nice dinner!
I also love dark chocolate and that would have made me question my ability to forgive. Enjoy getting even!!

Re: The Rules of Chocolate
The only way to forgiveness is jewelery & a nice dinner.

Re: The Rules of Chocolate
Debbie,
I have had that problem at home too, and not just my husband, but my older daughter as well...My solution is to keep my stash at work. I have it strategically placed on my desk, so that I can have the occasional piece, but don't have too many all at once, but also I appease my co-workers who come by my desk, all I ask in return is a smile and a kind word...which makes my day :)

Re: The Rules of Chocolate
Debbie, Poor Wayne, here is a helpful little hint (for him) for future reference...When it comes to Chocolate (ESPECIALLY DARK)...Don't Even Think About It...Because what automatically follows is...What Was I Thinking!!!
Good Luck...Otherwsie you have toresort to those "Property Of" Stickers - :)

Didn't I hear somewhere that dark chocolate was good for us? Shame on the hubby, the least he could have done was hide the evidence!!!

Re: The Rules of Chocolate
Great minds think alike maric! I also hide my stash of chocolate, (dark of course), in my knitting bag. No one ever get into it except me and when it's all gone I have no one to blame but myself. Shame on Wayne! Rules are he must replace it at least double immediately, if not sooner!

Re: The Rules of Chocolate
He stole Dark Chocolate!!!! My husband would think he was dying if he stole my dark chocolate. As I am at my desk most of the time unless chasing babies (as we are a foster home too)I keep the chocolate at my desk hid behind envelopes. He needs to replace BIG TIME! Sounds like is a sweetheart. I am sure he will. I am presently reading 74 Seaside Ave. I have not missed any of your books. Debbie, You are awesome. Thanks for the excitement I get when a new book comes out. You just need to come to Idaho for a signing!!!! Hint! Hint!
