Hot off the press
News flash!! Drum roll and trumpets blaring! This is hot off the presses . . . well, on Friday it will be. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a tad bit excited. The USA TODAY is doing a travel article on the effect my Cedar Cove series has had on tourism in my home town of Port Orchard. They are featuring the Cedar Cove map and have talked with the good people at the library, the local book seller and the Chamber of Commerce.
They are also going to mention the Victorian Rose Tea Room, which my husband and I happen to own. You read that right - The USA TODAY! Is that exciting or what? This is just the most wonderful news and exactly what I needed to hear before going “under the knife” tomorrow morning. I’m having rotator cuff surgery and will be recuperating at home for the first two weeks, and then slowly getting back into the swing of things after that. I’ll check in with everyone early next week. Have a fabulous Labor Day weekend.
By the way, if you’d like a copy of the Cedar Cove map for your very own, send a self-addressed, stamped, #10 envelope to PO Box 1458, Port Orchard, WA 98366 and my staff will send you one.

Debbie,
That is WONDERFUL! I don't read USA Today but I will definitely buy a copy on Friday! Can't wait to see it. Speaking of tourism. I showed my husband, the perfect husband, your house on the cover of 74 Seaside and he says he wants it! I said let's move to Port Orchard! But alas we cannot as we would miss our granddaughter too much but once can always dream. Good luck tomorrow during surgery. Special prayers winging their way to you.

That is such great news. I purchased 74 Seaside and plan on reading it this weekend. I know I won't put it down until I have read it all. I may even go back to one of the other books in the series as I have them all and I did so enjoy them.

Prayers are going your way tomorrow Debbie. I finished reading Knit Together last Saturday and 74 Seaside Avenue last night. Loved them both. You are such a talented writer. Your books always touch my heart. Knit Together has inspired me to try to find my purpose in life now that the kids are grown and gone and I've finally got time to be me! By the way, I'm with Liz, I love your house on the cover.

I almost forgot to mention the great article in Guideposts that came in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to see the video of you knitting! Betsy in Spokane

Hi Debbie,
Love your books and I'll be sure to get USA on Friday! Prayers are with you and your surgeons for your surgery. Wish I could visit your area of the country, however, we're a bit far away.

Re: Hot off the press
Just looked at the USA Today article today...love it! Will be sending my SASE for my very own copy of the Cedar Cove Map! Prayers winging their way to you tomorrow...some for you and your family and also to the staff at the hospital - that they are all rested, stress-free, and alert before, during and after your surgery. God Bless you all.

Re: Hot off the press
After reading your books I visited the Seattle area where I was raised but left a number of years ago. What a blessing to get away from the heat of California! We especially enjoyed the Lavender Festival in Sequiem. I am ready to move back! My mom and I have begun knitting prayer shawls and enjoy the time and interaction we have doing this. Thank you for sharing your passions! k8
