Bring Back the Baked Potato!

I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed what’s happening in restaurants all across America.  They’ve done away with the baked potato.  I wonder if Idaho knows about this. At first I was shocked, but then my shock turned into stunned disbelief.  Now I’m just plain peeved.  It took me some time to realize that there’s not a restaurant in all of Port Orchard that offers a baked potato with the entrée.  Don’t get me wrong.  I enjoy garlic-mashed potatoes as much as the next person, but give me my baked potato.

I don’t know when this happened or what prompted this clever ploy to do away with the baked potato.  All I can say is that I’m taking a stand.  If you’re like me and don’t want to go to Wendy’s for a baked potato, then join me in protest.  Let our voices be heard all across America.

Re: Bring Back the Baked Potato!
I think Sizzler still offers baked potatoes in their salad bar even! I know there isn't a Sizzler in Port Orchard but there is one in East Bremerton. I think I've been had a baked potato at Jimmy D's in Gorst! Now that's a shame if Gorst has baked potatoes and not Port Orchard. What about the old Myhre's in Port Orchard? They don't serve baked potatoes anymore? I love baked potatoes! To me they are comfort food! I like to eat the whole thing, peel and all! Hope you can get your baked potato fix soon, Debbie!

My 12 year old son is a potato fanatic, and he loves when he can get a baked potato out somewhere. Hope this isn't a trend that stays! We live in CO, and can still find them here.

Re: Bring Back the Baked Potato!
I just wanted to say, that I agree, I enjoy my baked potatoes as well, especially with the melting butter and the sour cream, as I think they taste better when someone else prepares them...
I live in Idaho, my husband is also a potato farmer, and usually even here the side dish choices are salad, fries, potato salad, soup, even rice, etc., but hardly ever baked potatoes, excluding the local Sizzler's as was mentioned in a prior post...
Sorry to disappoint, even here in Idaho, baked potatoes are hard to come by...
